TINTINHULL Churchyard Monumental Inscriptions Recorded by Pat Knight and Sheila Gane, of the Yeovil Archaeological Society, 197981
Their Plan shows that they did not include six upright stones fixed to the north exterior wall of the chancel, given here as nos.145151, nor any stones to the west of the church tower, which have been added up to 1980 (given here as nos.
152262); nor any interior memorials (given here as nos. 263284). Their copies were checked in May 1998, some corrections made, and some additional material added. All these corrections and additions for nos.1144 are typed here in
Italics.
Pat and Sheila's Plan shows they copied, first, south of the path from the entrance to the church, east to west, and then north of that path, around the north of the church, from east to west.
Pat and Sheila recorded on forms, one per sheet, with photographs of each monument. Their full copies are presumably held in the Yeovil Archaeological Society Library, at South Somerset Museum, Yeovil. There is also a photocopied set of these at Yeovil Reference Library.
Here the copies are condensed down to concise abstracts, according to the following guidelines: not exact wording on stones, but genealogical abstracts, giving all information in a concise form. Exact wording is however given for any in double inverted commas, in a few instances with obliques '/' indicating the ends of lines.
